The War of the Worlds was not designed as a radio farce, and Wells had no idea of the chaos it would cause. In this sci-fi tragicomedy, Natalie Yiaxi imagines a demonstration by a united visual arts front, and the chaos it would cause in light of recent developments. This piece incorporates previous projects of hers, such as the radio spot for the imaginary artists’ support program A.A.F.A.Y, (2015), an acronym for Adopt An Artist For A Year,, and the song Nothing At All, (2015).

Natalie Yιaxi was born in 1980 in Nicosia. Her practice is a prolonged digression from the book, and the conceptual structure it suggests. She works with written and spoken word, artist’s books, film and installations, exploring everyday life and voice as conditions with political and poetic dimensions. In her works, she often uses advertising language against itself.
